Dear fellow myrmecologists,

www.anttypes.org, the webpage of our ant types documenting project FoCol has its first update. At the moment we have about 2907 type specimen entries in our data base, and our type recording of German ant collections will be finished within the next weeks.

Soon you will find AutoMontage images of all primary type specimens deposited in German collections with available taxonomic information on this site. For the moment all images are available only on request (C. Klingenberg).

If you are looking for a type taxon, please note that we cited only the original name of the first description. In addition we want to call your attention that the type status of some specimens in our database is still not confirmed.

Don’t hesitate to inform us or send a reprint of your paper in case of new taxonomic information you have on one of the listed taxa or if you find additional primary types that we might have missed in our project. We appreciate any indication of mistakes we committed in our taxon research.

Enjoy and take advantage of our work!
